Conversion instructions AE 5080 channel extension (only for export customers) the AE 5080 in German execution (80/12 channels) can be converted easily on other usual standards:
Lower cover unscrew. Device in such a way put down that front screen away from the viewer shows. From the central processor (SYSTEM 501-Typ) out run a set of conductive strips to the connecting soldered connections of the front plate. From these connections one sees 3 courses with free soldering fields, which are not connected with the front screen quite in the center of the pinboard. These are (counted from on the left of to the right) the pinboard contacts No. 23, 24 and 25, (internally) to programming links the pin 26, 25 and 24 of the processor SYSTEM 501 lead. From there one makes cable links the channel extension pin 18 of the processor (also this link goes from the CPU to the front plate frontplattenloetleiste, pin 18 is situated 5 soldering fields on the right from pin 25, that is the 30. Solder tack from left) according to the following pattern:
Bridge 23 to 30Bridge 24 to 30Bridge 25 to 30
Pin 26 to 18Pin 25 to 18Pin 24 to 18Description
ConnectConnectConnect40 Channels (CEPT) - 26.965MHz to 27.405MHz
OpenOpenOpen80/12 Channels (Germany) - 26.565MHz to 27.405MHz
OpenConnectOpen40 Channels UK - 27.60125MHz to 27.99125MHz
ConnectOpenOpen120 Channels Polish - 26.510MHz to 27.850MHz
ConnectConnectOpen240 Channels Polish - 26.060MHz to 28.750MHz
OpenConnectConnect400 Channels - 25.165MHz to 29.655MHz
ConnectOpenConnect240 Channels - 26.065MHz to 28.755MHz
Consider please:
With 240 and 400 channel operation all channels can be switched (the channel 9-Taste operates now as BAND selector switch), however the devices operate with full performance reliably only on the middle tapes, for which the devices were adjusted by the factory. Possibly one must increase the bandwidth in individual cases by a second condenser (e.g. 10-15pF) parallel to C64 (original 2,2 pF). Also C 65 can be increased by parallel connection of 22 pF. Possibly one also the VCO (L4) must, if this no more does not lock, again adjust-adjusting that recipients is usually wide-band enough, so that no modifications are necessary here. The described change functions only with the AE 5080! (not possible with 5280 and 2980).
